I've seen the outside melting you're talking about. Looks promising, but I felt the spiral pattern should be longer than his. I feared I wouldn't have the skill with a soldering tool to melt a long pattern I want. Someone else on the forum did suggest cutting the film so the edge will spiral. I have been working on day blades with color cellophane, and the edge of the cellophane is left visible when the LED isn't exactly matched to the cellophane color. Toying while I had things apart, twisting the film roll added some dimension and the pattern best for Kylo, I think. I'll have to glue both ends to make the film stay twisted inside the tube. Sort of a controlled wrinkle. All this time, they've been trying to prevent the film wrinkle, and now DIY Kylo-ers are doing it on purpose.
