My blade film fell out! :O

Title says it all, I'm having trouble getting it back in after it slipped out about halfway when I was changing blades. Assuming I can get it back in, what glue should I used to re-secure it? is a 36" UE blade btw.

I've got a narrow pvc tube that I use for rolling film. Or I just use my fingertips and pull the edge of the film roll with my lips as it tightens the roll up on my littlest fingers at each end. High tech solutions.  It gets the job done. 'Other guys' companies don't always use glue. I've got some rolls I modified that are doing well without the glue. But, if you must have glue, anything you can find that will handle heat. I'm sorry I can't be more specific on that one, as I've gone without and just know which blades are glueless, so I don't let the film fall back out.

Simple hot glue should do the job. Make sure the film is all the way in (no gap between the film and the beginning of the blade tip!), then apply some glue on the edge of the film so that it contacts both the film and the polycarbonate blade. Wait until it cooled down and hardened, then your blade is ready for use again.

Thanks, it took some effort but I got it back in. I'll have to fire up the hot glue gun. Thanks for the fast replies Part of what made it so hard to get back in was a ring of glue that was "stuffing up" the tube when I was trying to push it in, once I just puled that off it went in pretty easy. One thing good learned from this, if I get a Flamberge for my Kylo Ren outfit, I'll know better how to modify a film if I want to crinkle it on purpose. (thankfully this one is not crinkled.

I was just saying earlier that twisting the film will look like Kylo's main blade.

Lol must've missed that, I've seen where a guy melted grooves into his blade but that seems a little extreme and time consuming for my tastes, I'd rather just get a grab bag blade and wrinkle the film now hahaha.

I meant I had mentioned elsewhere. You didn't miss it here. It's just funny, I think we had the same idea.

I've seen the outside melting you're talking about. Looks promising, but I felt the spiral pattern should be longer than his. I feared I wouldn't have the skill with a soldering tool to melt a long pattern I want. Someone else on the forum did suggest cutting the film so the edge will spiral. I have been working on day blades with color cellophane, and the edge of the cellophane is left visible when the LED isn't exactly matched to the cellophane color. Toying while I had things apart, twisting the film roll added some dimension and the pattern best for Kylo, I think. I'll have to glue both ends to make the film stay twisted inside the tube. Sort of a controlled wrinkle. All this time, they've been trying to prevent the film wrinkle, and now DIY Kylo-ers are doing it on purpose.
