I lost a catalyst hilt in an experiment gone horribly awry. So I machined this aluminum hilt and used the Catalyst electronics (old-school Jedi sound board) and put in my "Force activated" ignition, which is cool. A first effort.

Despite its obviously flaws (screws to hold the pommel). It is well balanced and excellent for dueling. weighs 1 pound 2 ox, 1.5 inches in diameter and is just under 12 inches tall.

Also my full collection, including 3 solid hilts at the bottom. All the non-UlraSabers hilts were made manually, no computer.

Yah I went a little crazy on the sabers. It all started with 2 Hasboro pieces of junk, which were stripped after I got my hands on an UltraSaber. The rest is history. I really want enough to get a group together and have a staged battle in the park. That would blow people away (I'm in the Grand Rapids, MI area). I love taking my sabers with me and showing them to people, they are usually amazed. Kids just love them. What a great hobby.

Learning to fix your saber is important I think. If you use your saber(s) as hard as I do, you will need to make minor repairs. A kid I let play with my war glaive broke the switch, so I have to put on a new one. One of the best things about UltraSabers is that they are fixable. Besides the soundboard and hilt, all the other components are pretty cheap.

I do not know what CSS is, maybe I'm stupid, but could someone enlighten me?

Thanks for the compliments, I like my brass one too, it is the results of 100's of hours learning to solder and work a lathe, so the hard work paid off.

And yes, you can definitely see the influence of the Roman short sword, good eye imperialknight. I freehanded those hilts, so I guess it is subconscious.

Next up, a botched try at a curved saber, and my CNC machined blaster pistol!

Thanks. So CSS is kinda the standard? I screwed around on their site but their prices seemed way high.
So in response to your question, Kham-Ryn Kurios, everything pictured is from ultraSabers or made by me on a manual lathe like the one below:

I am just finishing a class to get my CNC certificate, so I made these at school. The blaster I'm working on is my final project for the CNC, the brass lightsaber was my final project on the manual lathe. So, it is a fun class.

I must admit some curiosity at your "Force Activated" ignition.  Any chance you'd explain this?  It intrigues me  Smiley

Did you take the classes just to make the sabers, or was making the sabers secondary to getting the CNC certificate?
