Figured I would post this here. The topic of levitating sword came up in another forum. This is a first real attempt at the flying/levitating saber technique. Not polished yet and the equipment needs adjusted, but I will get there. All props to flowarrior, from whose video I picked this up. As I progress, I will post more vids here.

Just posted a link to get him over here. I figure, if people want to know what I am doing, they should come to my thread so I don't have to hunt all over to answer question. I am lazy like that. Also, I have a second video I will upload tomorrow. I figured out the front spin during my second practice session this evening.

Second attempt at the flying/levitating saber technique. Not perfect but better. This time I was focusing on getting more rotation on the saber on trying out the front spin. There is a double spin attempt in here as well. I will be working on that next as it looks iffie as yet.

So here is the thing, yes I will explain how I am doing this, but I want to finish figuring out how to do it first. There is also a gear requirement for this trick and I am still working out the logistics. I have broken two different set ups. I want a set up that can do the two tricks in the videos so far and two more that you will see in the next two videos once I am able to practice them and film them. I also want something that will not hinder my movement for other tricks or cause problems with costumes. The short answer is that there is a string wrapped around my body. With that much, you can experiment on your own as well if you like. Where and how that string is anchored, how long it is, how it is wrapped, and how and where it attaches to the saber are all things I am still working on.

I broke my rig on practice test 2 so these are lacking some spin. Still, it is an attempt at an outer rotation. You saw one in the last video but I did not land it. The video is a bit dark, but you can see where the saber goes. I have gotten pretty good at landing it now. When the blade is spinning throughout the process, it should look a lot better.
