Whenever I hear somebody humming the music from Star Wars, I automatically join in. Especially if it is Darth Vader's Theme.  I don't know why, but I just start without thinking. Does this happen to anybody else, or is it just me being weird?
(Don't know if this is the right place to put this, so it can be moved if needs be).

Yeah, a lot of people do it. It's similar to the psychological phenomenon called mirroring where people unconsciously imitate nonverbal actions in a conversation to build rapport, such as matching strides when walking or imitating facial expressions and/or hand gestures.

Interesting. I was gonna start an EARWORMS topic. This is something different.
I don't follow, or mimic, cuz I'm a leader(feel free to roll your eyes)
I can't think of anytime I've seen this, or experienced this. I'll research this Mirroring thing you said Jev. Never heard of it, but not surprising. I wonder if it's like that emotion most people have where they mimic, or go with the crowd, as social acceptance.
Sorry I can't put it to words right now, too much distraction and talking

Or when the bartender "asks" if you want to make it a double and  nods while asking you. 90% of the time the person the person says yes and nods too.

Two people laying close together will also start to breathe at the same rate, even if there is a size difference, which would usually indicate different breathing rates.

Ok, I read on mirroring, and it is what I was thinking of. I've discussed this with my therapist, but didn't know it had a name.

I quickly asked my wife if I do it, and she sed no, but, that the kids mimic me. She doesn't do it, but our families totally do this!

During a fencing practice recently, I put one of my fencers in charge of the music.  She put on the Imperial March... and we practiced footwork to it.  Most awesome moment this season so far!

Sounds like it. I would love to fence, but I don't have the time to right now. Wednesday night I dueled with my friend and it was awesome, but the batteries died in both the sabers, so that ended it. It was still fun though.

BTW Master Nero, before I had seen your avatar pic, I didn't think much of either of the Prophecy sabers, but now the Dark Prophecy is one of my favorites.

On another note, it's hard to take you and Artorius seriously as saber duellists when you're out there duelling in flip flops. Unless you pull some "La Chancla" maneuvers in combat, they aren't exactly practical footwear...

Maybe I'm not a fashionista, but I don't get the guys that wear jeans with flip flops. I hate flip flops period. I only wear them the short distance from the house to the pool, and I've had the same pair for 15 years.
While on the style topic, older men in khaki short shorts, and a sweatshirt on top...smh. are you cold, or hot?

Grin Grin Grin   Seriously.  I've observed that, too.  Seriously trying to steer clear of that behavior, not to mention khaki anything, as I approach 50.

Haha we made it work surprisingly well, but we're pretty experienced too.  Definitely not the ideal choice though, we absolutely need an updated picture (although I don't think we can beat the setting we used before)
