It has been getting worst and worst, my wife and myself have purple colored Sabers (Red/Blue LED) mine will only turn Red now and one batter heats up. My wife's goes pink. Is there anyone that has had this happen and if so is there a fix.

This is common when the batteries get low and there's not enough power to drive both dye that mix to make your main blade color.  So only one of them starts to light up, like only the red instead of both red and blue.  Try fully charged batteries and see if that clears it up.

If you have alkaline batteries, this is more of an issue than it is with Li-Ion batteries.

True, they don't have the output to properly power a lightsaber.

With brand new fresh batteries, you should have true color for up to 30 mins straight in my experience. my daughter has a DVA that goes through pink, then red as the batteries run down. If you are using the rechargeable kind and one is getting warm, that cell may be failing causing you to be underpowered more of the time.

I saw symptoms of this with my Consular when it had the standard battery setup, when I added my Bane's Heart with quick disconnect to it and even with a fresh set of Sony AAA batteries, it was a blood red kind of color instead of the brighter magenta color it was supposed to be. Marlena in customer service confirmed the AAA batteries were the problem. Upgraded it to the Li-Ion battery setup and problem solved - Consular with Bane's Heart gleaming brilliantly the gorgeous magenta color of Bane's Heart.

They're OK for one LED, but not two or more.  Then adding sound probably makes it worse.  I'll never do a multi LED saber without Li-Ion batteries.

Deep addresses that exact problem here: http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=185.0

That's what I love about the Li-Ion batteries, their either good, or they're off.  There's no color fade or the like.

With a Buck Buck it is all or nothing, Li-Ion with resistor will still do the fade.

Ah, so that's the difference maker.  Thanks for that information.  Smiley
