Be who you are and say what you feel

I'm hearing reports that Debbie Reynolds, Carrie's mother, has just passed.

That's IT.

I am officially quitting 2016.

That's it, I quit altogether.  New goal is nuclear war by year end.  We'll all go together.

Nah, forget that.  Death doesn't get to win.  I'm about to fire up my DeLorean!

If everyone's dead, what's left for Death to do, but die itself?

In better news, I did see that Carrie's daughter will be taking care of Gary.  I also saw that Gary was with her when she passed.

Poor Debbie though, I saw it was probably a stroke, but more likely a broken heart.

I very much believe she died of a broken heart as well.  This happened to my husband's mother.  There was a very stressful, very upsetting event happening in the family and we suspect she just couldn't take the pain of it anymore.  She suddenly passed on with absolutely no foresight into it.  The coroner also said that it was a stroke, but I believe that like Debbie, her heart was breaking.

I can't wait for 2016 to die.

It happened to the old couple that lived next door to me growing up. It's been about 10 years now, but they died within two weeks of each other. Their kids said, after their father died their mother lost all will and her health began to fail.

Only a few days to the horrid year left and I'm still losing people I like.  I will never forgive this year for taking so many celebrities from me. I miss Robert Vaughn so much.

I really am tired of this year.  It needs to end so we can start fresh.   Cry

Wow, one day apart.  I can't even imagine what their family is going through now.  That's a damn shame, both were great, classy ladies of Hollywood who will be missed.

It was probably the strain of what happened to Carrie that caused the stroke.

Either you like Star Wars... Or you're wrong.

Just watched Carrie Fisher's show, "Wishful Drinking", last night on HBO (also on HBO GO). Very funny and therapeutic at the same time. Highly recommended. Still hard to imagine what the world will be like without her. She was a truly a diamond in the ruff.

As much as I feel for Billie Lourd (losing your mother and grandmother a day apart is going to be devastating), who I really feel for is Carrie's brother Todd.

As I understand it, what happened is that after Carrie died, Debbie was at Todd's house planning Carrie's funeral when she had the stroke. Todd was the one that found her.

That poor man had just lost his sister the day before and then walks in and finds his mother dead on the floor.

If it were me, I would have just shattered. I wouldn't even be able to set foot in the house anymore. I'd just put it on the market, go find a new place, and hire some movers to pack everything up.

Todd said his mother went very peacefully (according to what I've read) and that he doesn't believe she died of a broken heart or anything like that.   I really hope that is the case.  Who knows, maybe it gave him a sense of peace to know that his mother wouldn't have to struggle through this.  I do hope that he is able to find some peace himself.  <3
