Are you susceptible to the wild fires down there?  I know that's a huge thing there...

Safe enough where I live thankfully. My area is good no matter what natural disaster we are having that week  

But my brother did live very close to where they had the huge fire in 2009. He and his family were all ok, but it was very close to home for them. They had to evacuate their home at one point. But luckily for them the fire was quenched before it got that far.

That definitely looks great with the red crystal in there.

I would like to get one too, a proper one instead of my hunk of metal shards  I think I'm going to have fun editing these photos

Shot a few more coats of clear and touched up some paint details today, so with any luck I should be able to photograph it Wednesday (my time) afternoon

Well here is the finished product.

This hilt is called The Mustafar.

Once it started to near completion, an idea formed in my mind. I wanted to make a series of planet "inspired" modified Ultra Sabers. For this saber, looking like it was dragged from fires and molten lava, the only name that seemed fitting was The Mustafar.

This will be the first in a series (hopefully a long series) of hilts that I am going to model after planets in the Star Wars universe. We see lots of character inspired things, or things based around specific starships, but I've never personally seen a planet collection. I have a few more ideas for the "next in line" and would ideally like to make one for every color available for the sabers. I am also going to aim to have a visible Kyber crystal in each saber as a recurring theme.

So without further ado, Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present to you The Mustafar:

Thanks everyone! It was heaps of fun to make, and I was really glad to be able to turn something I didn't like at all, into something that heaps of people enjoyed watching take form

Still proud AF of that switch though  that's probably my favorite part of the whole build to be honest. So many people said it wouldn't work and there would be easier ways, and there were so many readily available switches that I could have given up and used, but I'm really glad I stuck with my original plan!

The usb plug will go into the power pack to power the led when the saber is out and about. And when it is on display, the pommel will be removed, power pack taken out, and the saber will be on a stand that I am going to make that will pretty much just be a female usb connecter mounted in something that the saber can sit on without falling over.
