Has anyone tried this for blade film? I ran across it while looking for blade-building supplies, it sounds like it would be interesting with a silver blade. I might pick some up to try it out, but I'm building photon blades, I'm not sure how it will work with those. I've been planning the same stuff. When rolled smooth in the blade, it just does the same as regular clear cellophane. I'm working on some ideas for how it could be layered and angled in a different way to allow the color variance to show.

I'm slow and cheap with my ideas. I'm hopefully starting a new job, so it will be a while. I wish the iridescent would make the spectral shifts at different angles, but it's really made to be clear with just a bit of reflection. The surface shape makes the iridescence stand out as it reflects ambient light. Saturating it with white light may just cause it to perform like any clear cellophane. Maybe an intentionally twisted roll inside the blade would make something interesting. I just don't know if the iridescence will keep up with the brightness to make anything noticeably different from a regular white.

Try crinkling it and then rolling it loosely so there are folds and creases inside the blade. Might add that bit of iridescence you're looking for.
