I'm waiting for my new saber to come in, it should come in either today or tomorrow. I'm excited to see it. I ordered the Consular with obsidian soundboard v3. What do you guys think of that?

Classic hilt and a tribute to Qui Gon Jin. You will love that hilt. In fact, I prefer my Consular without the silver sheath covering which is removable if you undo the covertec wheel. It's easier on the hands!

Qui Gon Jin was my daughters favorite jedi and i thought it would've been cool to have that hilt. Thank you for that suggestion also I might try it.

I don't quite understand this thinking. On the V4 you can erase all the sound banks and set only one on there if you want. So it can also do exactly what the V3 does, one bank. I just think having options is way worth the 10 bucks. |

I'm with you all the way on this one... but to each their own.  All those extra fonts for only $10 more... and esp. the mute feature.... sheesh... that alone is awesome enough. !  |

Personally I think the V3 is a waist of money. Go big or go home as they say. If your going to spend almost that much anyway, why wouldn't you.

Since I have no experience with the v4 board, I wont say that I don't like it. I personally feel that it is not needed though. It is not a huge deal to customize the sound fonts as it is, and it is cheaper. I also like the normal sound font that comes installed on it, so I have no problem with just the v3. But like D7 said, to each their own. Go with what you want. You'll be happy with it either way.

i guess im just the kind of person who likes just having one set to enjoy instead of constantly flipping through different sounds
plus if i just delete the extras wouldnt that just be a waste to the v4 pontential?
i guess the v3 helps me deciding better since choosing the right sound combo is not easy

One thing that I do on the V4 is erase all the banks and then load boots on new banks. Then when I hit the button I can have someone like Darth Vader speak, hit the button again and he says something else. As if he's having a conversation with his apponent. Can't do that with V3.

sounds too much like a gimmick its a lightsaber not a fancy remote i settle on one kind of sound and start swinging |
