What ever Obi Wan Likes, Seems to be Light atm ^_^

« on: January 14, 2017, 04:57:42 PM »

Hey guys, and gals, I got my Guardian a couple of days ago and I've been taking the speaker in and out quite a lot to access the Obsidian and/or the Emerald but I went to do it today and it seems stuck.
I've tried most things but It doesn't want to budge, It seems to be at an angle. Anyone got a suggestion?
Thanks,
- Jack

With the speaker end up, shake it down into the hilt so it's aligned straight with the inside again.

Then with the speaker end down, "smack" the bottom of the hilt into your palm to help jar it loose and come out freely.

If it's still stuck another method is to fold a towel several times and place it on the floor - do the same thing by forcing the bottom of your hilt into the towel to help the speaker come free.

The whole point is using a little bit of extra force while giving the speaker something soft to contact to avoid damaging it.

Those methods usually do the trick, but if they don't, you can also remove the LED module from the top of the emitter/hilt. You can then carefully insert a chopstick or something similar down through the top of the saber to push on or align the battery pack. Just be careful to avoid wires.

haz and Landen have it.

Do be careful, if you go in from the top.  It does work nicely though.

Some members have added a loop of tape or string or something to act as a pull for it.

DO NOT ATTACH THAT TO YOUR SPEAKER, if you go that way.  After you get it out - of course.

Hi.  Remove the covertec wheel just incase the screw is catching on something.  Once the battery/speaker pack is out, then you can gently round off the sound board plastic edges and slightly decrease the speaker outer black plastic ring circumference with some finer sandpaper or by using a small file.  And as always don't force the pack back in... but follow the natural course of the way the wires want to fit inside the hilt.

Hope this additional info helps and good luck.  Smiley

Okay everyone, I got it out by face it up wards and hitting the hilt making it go back in then slipped it out but it appears the speaker has broken off the battery pack only the wires are keeping it together.
Should I leave this or fix it?

EDIT: I'm thinking about gluing it in, is that alright?

Definitely repair it.  I'm not exactly sure how to adhere it, since I've never done so, but you don't want any sort of stress on those wires.

Standby...

Before you do anything else - you should contact US about it.

Last thing you want to do is void your warranty.  Better to have them give you directions on how to proceed if you aren't very familiar with working with the electronics.

Winning? Is that what you think it's about? I'm not trying to win. I'm not doing this because I want to beat someone, or because I hate someone, or because I want to blame someone. It's not because it's fun. God knows it's not because it's easy. It's not even because it works, because it hardly ever does. I do what I do because it's right! Because it's decent! And above all, it's kind! It's just that. Just kind.
