Based on the acclaimed manga animated movie (which itself was spun off into a successful anime tv series) comes this live action adaptation. Will it be accepted by fans of the original anime? Will it appeal to a wider casual cinema crowd? Will it be as financially successful as Scarlet Johansson's Lucy that did big box office but had a mixed response from fans? We shall see.

The funny thing is, The Wachowskis stated that The Ghost in the Shell anime was one of their inspirations in creating The Matrix.
