Graflex vs Consular

I am having a real struggle trying to figure out what ultrasaber to get. I am going to get FoC and the v4 soundboard regardless but I don't know which one to get. Honestly, I want the graflex more but the price and the mixed reviews about dueling hold me back. The consular is cheaper, easier to duel with, and green would look great with it. Between the two, what would you choose?

If you plan on using your saber for any kind of spinning, duelling or any king of regular handling the Consular is the clear choice IMO. Plus it's fully MHS, which will allow you to customize it if you'd fancy. And it does look really good.

If you're looking for a show peice, wanting the classic design, to have belt candy or a shelf queen then the Graflex would be the way to go. It'll handle ok and be fun to weild but not as nicely. And of course it looks awesome too.

I'd say the Consular. I like the Graflex and all, but I just don't see it as a saber that I'll get before the Consular. Plus, it is based off of Qui-Gon Jinn's saber, and you can't go wrong with Qui-Gon.

I totally agree with that.  Can't go wrong with Qui-Gon Jinn, loved that Jedi.

As much as I'd like to be the oddball here, I've gotta go Consular too.  A more simple, straightforward design, a removable shroud that adds to comfort, or so I hear.  Plus, as Haz said, fully MHS is always a win.

Consular from me as well Been wanting one since it first came out but I now have too many green sabers. Need more blues

The Consular was my first Ultra Saber, very carefully chosen, so my natural inclination is to recommend that to you as well. I have the Graflex, too, but if I had to do it over, I'd still choose the Consular first and the Graflex later. With the MHS full compatibility, it's like having at least two sabers in one, but really quite a lot more limited only by the number of MHS emitters and pommels that you own. It's fun to have such a modular saber to start with and experiment with. You can make it look like a Jedi saber (Qui Gonn Jin) or after you remove the shroud, a darker, Sithy saber, using a dark Manticore emitter, for example.

Hehehe, excellent! One way or the other, they're both Ultra Sabers and will not disappoint.

Oh so you already had the Consular? Hows it hold up for hard dueling and stuff? I once saw a picture where a buddy of mine was dueling with a Guardian and the whole top emitter came off somehow .-. I was like: Obi-wan: Not again! XD He got it repaired though. He fights in The Saber Legion so, probably not really meant for that hard of fighting but I could be wrong. Not really sure how it could've happened though. Not bashing just telling what me and a friend talked about awhile back. Everyone should know by now that a Guardian is still high on my list as well Can't wait to see the classic Graflex though =]

You could always go Emerald Consular. Then you can change out the green when your in the mood.  I love mine. I want a Graflex, but after seeing TFA I have it in my head that I want a more accurate looking Graflex the what US offers.  I don't know if I will end up getting one.

Could always get a dueling one from here then a display piece? I had that idea too actually same with the Consular and a more accurate Qui-gon hilt as well. It can be done with the Guardian now too and a more screen accurate Obi-wan TPM/AOTC sabers as well. Those replicas look sweet. Wouldn't mind having a set of a dueling saber and display piece myself actually
