From a purely aesthetic stand point, I am not a fan of covertec wheels.

I'm curious, has anyone come up with any creative alternatives to the covertec wheel and covertec clip on a belt?

I like these mirror hangers personally. I have a couple of hooks I made out of aluminum barstock that they hang on.

Interesting. Out of curiosity, how did you attach it to your saber? Drill a hole? Glue? Solder? Blowtorch?

Generally I use longer screws and metal/rubber washers to hold the blades and plugs. They create a head that holds the hanger. I try not to drill any extra holes if at all possible, so usually the blade retainer spots, the sound holes in the pommels, or any holes that are already there from covertech wheels or anything else.

You could use a D-ring, like the OT hilts did.

I was just thinking about that and using some additional leather to incorporate it into the wrap.

My Ultra Saber came with the hole for the covertech wheel and the clip, but NOT the actual wheel. So eventually I began considering alternatives as well. I ended up using similar mechanisms.

Many hilts have prefabbed grooves near the pommel or a thicker pommel than the handle.  If you have one of these sabers, and don't want/have access to drilling tools, you can actually just tie a cord/ribbon or whatever into that groove or near the pommel to attach a ring or something similar

I don't think it looks as good as either a covertec wheel or D-ring, but it's a decent option for those that don't like those options or have limitations on tool usage
