Kylo updates

So I said I wasn't going to do anything more to my Kylo costume last year but I've gone through and decided to do some updating.  I went ahead and ordered the proper fabric for a new hood and top coat, but I figured if that's the case I might as well try and fix up my old robe.

Currently it looks like this


The goal is to make it reflective like in the movie.


 So I'm waxing the pleated parts, here's a look at a coated sleeve vs an uncoated.


I've still got to finish the vest but I'll put it all on and show it together when I'm finished

As for the top coat I've sealed the fabric and painted it with a metallic black paint to make it shimmer in the light
The middle layer is what the fabric looked like before.


It's given it a subtle sparkle effect, I'll show it all together when I've finished!

Nice. I need to do a Kylo Ren costume. I don't know how to make one at all so only decent option is either Jedi Robe replica version or CosplaySky version

I'm going to get some real photos taken soon but I wanted to show the finished product.

I hate to jump around but this is my new robe.  It's using the JJ industries fabric and it's waaaaay more accurate.  Although I'm surprised how similar the old robes ended up mimicking the JJ fabric.

But like I said, this is the new robe, with the waxed sleeves and coat.  I'm pretty thrilled with how this looks.



It's been pretty important to me that I'm able to wear the saber with Kylo's clip.  Gotta thank Kouri again for that!

At first I was skeptical that this would improve the look, but after seeing the finished pics, I have to say I do notice the difference and it looks great!  Good job!
