I know this is probably the wrong place to post this but I figured more people look here. Basically, when I installed my obsidian launcher and opened it up on my mac, capital A's in boxes were where the words were supposed to be. I updated the app, deleted it, installed it again but it was still there. Anyone know what to do? Thanks!

Could you post a screenshot of the issue?  I'm kinda curious to see it firsthand.  It sounds like something isn't displaying the text correctly (kinda like some websites that show empty boxes in places of special characters when it doesn't know what to display), but I wouldn't begin to know how to fix it.

I am a grey Jedi.
My passions are a part of me,
but they do not control me.
Domination can be broken.
Serenity can be a lie.
Knowledge gives me strength,
but power can be a weakness.
Peace and chaos gives me harmony,
Through balance I gain victory.
There is no Light or Dark,
There is only the Force.
Do not try to sway me or you will feel my wrath.

If you haven't already, make sure you are running the program as the Administrator when you're installing the launcher.  See where that gets you . . .

Dumb question. You did install the newest version, right?

It might be worth going to the Apple menu in the upper left corner and going to About This Mac to get your OS version number.

This could be a bug with OS Sierra (10.12) that didn't show up in earlier versions of the Mac OS.

Also, go to the Apple menu and going to Security and Privacy and make sure you allow third-party apps in GateKeeper - http://osxdaily.com/2016/09/27/allow-apps-from-anywhere-macos-gatekeeper/

Is it possible you don't have the correct font installed?  That's what it looks like to me.

I had to allow third party apps to download so thats not the problem. Honestly I am not sure if I have OS Sierra downloaded. I haven't personally updated it in maybe two years but maybe a family member did.
