I've been trying to piece together different ideas for an outfit.  I picked up a Darkside Anakin a year ago from JediRobeAmerica and while it's fun, I would like to make something closer to being my own.  One thing I'm curious about is something Anakin wore during the Clone Wars series.  I'm assuming it's a Jedi battle outfit rather than the traditional robes because they can be rather floppy, though they still seem to manage never chopping off fabric with their sabers Tongue

The piece in question is the undershirt he wears under the top layer, a redish/burgundy tunic style shirt.  So far, the closest thing I can find to it is an Indian style shirt called a Kurta, but I was curious if there were other names for it so I can search deeper.

It's hard to draw any real conclusions about it with so much of it hidden.

A mid-thigh length tunic kind of garment, with close fitting sleeves and some same-color embroidering at the bottom hem.  Almost certainly would have to be of a material with some stretch to it, to accommodate the arm movements of saber combat, unless there are some very well hidden gussets under the armpits.

Beyond those visible and necessary strictures, you just can't tell from what IS shown.  You can't even see any of the red material at the collar area of the armor.  The only further speculation that I think is warranted is some means of attaching the shoulder plates, and that would be a custom alteration of whatever tunic like garment you chose to use. 

The inability to narrow it to a specific type of garment is not necessarily a bad thing, as it gives you much, much more latitude in finding something that works.

Yeah, unfortunately there are NO pics of what it is without the top layer and armor.  I only went with this image because it was a real person and not from the series, so I thought it looked better to try and determine what it could be.  I'm sure someone makes them, but I have no clue what to call them in order to search.  I'm finding some neat looking kurtas on ebay, not quite the color I want, but it's giving me some ideas.

Have you tried looking at this? Anakin Skywalker The Clone Wars Rebel Legion Costume Standard

I'm sure if you look at people's WIP threads on the Rebel Legion forum for this outfit you may find more information on how they did it.
