Question of the day:
In your opinion, what is the most important superhero movie ever and why?
Personally, and it may seem cliched, obvious and over-used, but I would say Superman 1978. I would say, without that movie we wouldn't have comic book movies to same degree of regularity and popularity as we do today.
Of importance, not best, but what got the "love" for comic book hero movies started, therefore making it important, would be Tobey Maguire's Spiderman, and/or it's franchise. Superman the Movie was great, and so was Batman, but many long stretches without anything. The success of Spidey invigorated the comic book industry to create more film franchises, thus, casting out(unsuccessfully) Hulk before they hit gold with Ironman Edit: realized afterwards it said Superhero, not comic hero. So much talk of comic movies I became auto piloted to the answer. |

It's officially part of the MCU, just a self-contained "street level" series, same as Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. They'll all be teaming up for a series called the Defenders soon. |

It has been reported that WB are thinking of rebooting/remaking The Matrix. WITHOUT the involvement of the Wachowsi siblings and WITHOUT the involvement of Keanu Reeves. Zac Penn may be writing the script with early reports saying the studio wants Michael B Jordan to star.
What are our thoughts? Is it a good idea to reboot/remake The Matrix or should they leave well enough alone?

I'm mixed. On the one hand, I think there's a lot in the universe they could still explore. On the other hand, I'm tired of reboots/remakes. On the most important hand, I loooooove Michael B. Jordan. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

I too am mixed. The Matrix is certainly one of those Franchises that could be redone every so often and work...but not now. Those of us who were teens when it came out are not even in out 40s yet...give us time to at least hit 70 before rebooting something. But I hope Micheal B. Jordan stays as far away from it as possible. If anything they should cast Will Smith as the intended to in the original. :p

Yeah. I don't think he'd do it, although, for his career, I think he should. He seems so intent on making certain types of films. I'm really surprised he did Suicide Squad. |
