1. THE MATRIX 2. JOHN WICK 3. KILL BILL: VOL. 1 4. KILL BILL: VOL. 2 5. RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK 6. OLDBOY 7. MAD MAX: FURY ROAD 8. THE ROAD WARRIOR 9. ENTER THE DRAGON 10. THE WAY OF THE DRAGON 11. THE TERMINATOR
Honorable Mentions: DIE HARD, PREDATOR, THE RAID: REDEMPTION
See, I was considering Enter the Dragon and Way of the Dragon, but wasn't sure if I would consider them action movies. But then again I included The Raid on my list, so my logic circuits are obviously corrupted.

They're martial arts; of course they're action! And even if that still doesn't qualify, Bruce Lee overcomes everything.

So you guys are qualifying anything with action in it an action movie?

I was tempted to do a top 11 for martial arts films, but considered it a bit too niche a subject for the forum So you guys are qualifying anything with action in it an action movie?
Well, the technical definition of an action film (according to my good friends at google) is a film genre in which the protagonist or protagonists end up in a series of challenges that typically include violence, extended fighting, physical feats, and frantic chases. However, the interpretation of that definition can lead to some interesting choices

If anything maybe it's a subgenre.

true. But it's too important to be considered sub, in my mind. But that's just me, cos I do love me a good martial arts movie (36 Chambers of Shaolin? Yes please)

I don't actually think I've watched 14 movies that are classified as Action. It seems like you guys have been putting MCU in the lists, so I could easily make one out of them, but I don't really feel like those are action movies, and more of adventure. If you know what I mean.

The MCU are comic book movies that contain action and adventure (and comedy). But they are generally classed as CBM movies first and foremost

Exactly why I wouldn't put them in a list.

I think we already did a top 11 comic book movies. Sometime last year. (I really should keep a list of which topic we've covered. Might help ensure I don't duplicate myself as happened at the beginning of this thread).

The debate over what constitutes an action movie is moot because Darth Knox put STAR WARS on his list.

You're fired. It's the best genre. Also, how can Iron Man 2 but not The Avengers make your list, and Star Trek: ID over the first remake? Your opinions are so messed up. 1) Shut up, 2) better villains, and 3) shut up. Just because that's the only genre you watch doesn't qualify it as the best.
