Think that's a bit of an incorrect urban myth as well... or he has matured. The band is always one of the first if not the first to lead the way for any celebrity fund raising in Canada. Such as last fall for the folks affected by the terrible fires in Fort McMurray Alberta. Having met him and the other guys... they were quite down to earth, warm and decent.  I've never met any of them. Just going off some of what Chad has said in interviews and social media, a lot leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Plus the few live clips I've seen of the band, generally, has not been all that good. Though I try to hold some judgement on that one as I'm aware that many times live performances are great in person, but do not translate to video as well. Am I the only one that uses a butterfly knife as a fidget?
No. I actually have a friend who does that. Makes me nervous as heck when she does too... |

The true test of a performer's ability is a live showing. Anyone can sound good in a studio with fancy sound editing equipment and multiple takes to get something right. If you can nail it perfectly in a live concert, you're a good musician.
I try not to take one showing into account so much, as I've seen first hand how many things can effect the quality. Sometimes the venue is bad, the sound guy sucks(I've seen a show where this happened, and it was true for all bands), a band member is ill and can't go on(not having a second guitarist can really make a difference. Much harder for one to replicate the typical sound achieved with two) or can play but is off, the singer is having issues with their voice, or the band is just having a plain off night. I once saw a band, Adelitas Way, who was quite awesome and put on a great show. Two months later the same band put on a stinker. FYI, the band Shinedown is amazing live. |

How was everyone's week? Hopefully not to hectic for anyone. Well, I might have rheumatoid arthritis and won't be able get involved with dueling of any kind anymore. But, I'm feeling somewhat better this weekend. I'll have to see what the doctors say. I can still mod some stuff, including some cheap sound I might add to one of the mystery sabers coming this weekend. I'm also planning to add some strong blade tubes to an Ultimate FX toy Darth Maul, which should make it much more valuable than what I paid. Makes for inexpensive lightweight stuff for my nephews to duel without hurting each other or breaking it. Don't wanna put aluminum pipes in their hands just yet. How was your week there Khammy?  |
