I spend a lot of my spare time watching 90's wrestling on the WWE network, I have never regretted it until I watched some current New Japan wrestling, it was awesome. And yes I'm saying you should all watch more wrestling.

Is it something you need or have always wanted? Or are you just buying one because you like trumpets and that's a rare collector, but you otherwise have no attachment to this particular model? If the former, then so long as it's a good deal, go for it. If the later, then don't do it, save your money for sabers instead! |

In like new condition it is worth about $900-1000 alone, with the case and original accessories it might go for as much as $1400, maybe more. I kind of want it because I collect antique trumpets and because my first trumpet teacher had a liberty model (Slightly newer, 1922) that he let my play occaisionally and it was a really great sounding instrument.
I have:
1916 Buescher Model 15 Cornet
1918 Buescher Model 15 Cornet (My grandfathers)
1924 Buescher Model 9 Trumpet
1939 York Standard
1950's - early '60's Getzen Deluxe Trumpet (The factory burnt down in the winter of 1963 so more accurate dating is impossible)
1991 Conn 20A Cornet
and a couple boring modern instruments. I've wanted a liberty model for years, but they are very expensive in this shape because of their reputation as quality horns. . . I will have to talk to guy selling it a little more.

The 1918 is a "Low Pitch" model, which means that it tunes to the new (for that period) international standard, and the '16 is one of my daily players. I got it because I love the '18 ( mostly for its bloody huge .482 bore, which allows me to push the volume really far without hurting the tone, but also because it has a really sweet tone and plays well across the register ant at any volume) but I didn't want to travel and play a lot with a family heirloom. |
