Just finished reading my first Legends novel "Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter." Kind of disappointing to be honest, I was hoping for some characterization of Maul with him being the titular character but it was severely lacking. He's just a blunt instrument with no personality the whole time. I'd say it's tied with "Heir to the Jedi" as worst SW novel I've chanced upon.

Oh my Winter Child...there are some out there that make Heir to the Jedi seem like Heir to the Empire. In seriousness, current canon only has one Novel worth reading...Thrawn. |

Thrawn is still my gold standard. I picked up 2 of the 3 Thrawn trilogy books also by Zahn at a thrift store but just haven't gotten around to opening them up yet. |

The Thrawn Trilogy is considered the gold standard of the Old EU. It introduced Thrawn and Mara Jade and it is considered by many to be the true Episode 7,8,9. Its fitting that the most highly praised book in the current canon is about Thrawn written by the man who created him. |
