Were you the one that I convinced to buy the Mistborn books, or was it someone else? Also, only 10 months till Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.

LOL! Well, that's good TJ. Leave your feet? Intent to injure?

LOL! Well, that's good TJ. Leave your feet? Intent to injure? Basically, any avoidable contact where the opponent's head is the main target.

Right. I've noticed that the rules have gotten tighter on that one. Too many concussions and head injuries. Hitting from behind, and boarding are big no-nos too.

Those always have been. They've only really started getting strict with the head stuff recently.

Tis a wonderfully sunny day in the UK. As I am on gardening leave there is only one thing to do - spend the day naked at home

What the hell is Gardening Leave? Did your yard just give birth to a new bouncing baby garden and your boss is paying you to stay home and take care of it?

In the UK gardening leave is where an employee leaving a job – having resigned or otherwise had their employment terminated – is instructed to stay away from work during the notice period, while still remaining on the payroll. They are then free to tend to their garden. So, I officially have bugger all to do until I start my new job next month

Ah. We called that Terminal Leave in the military. You could technically start working somewhere else, though, right?

Nope. I am still under contract with my current employers. I was required to give 4 weeks notice and worked two of them to get everything in my section up-to-date and all the handover notes in order for my replacement. Because I'm super efficient, that only took me 2 weeks, so I asked to go on gardening leave for the remaining two weeks. The thing with gardening leave is that it can be used to keep the employee who is resigning away from confidential data and sensitive information. In my current job, data protection of client information is quite a sensitive issue, so gardening leave keeps me away from accessing that information. It's also used to prevent the employee who is resigning from encouraging others to join them, not that I would do that. So, quite different from terminal leave in the military.
