She doesn't bother, that's the point. Very few, really only Conan, can even come close to landing a hit on Sonja.
In many Fantasy games, either through player manipulation or in game design, the female fantasy armors have just as much power as the overly massive male armors.
Really you have boris Vallejo (who used his wife Julie Bell as the model) and Frank Frazetta for the hyper-sexualized Barbarian aesthetic. Where the Men were built like bodybuilders and wore only loin cloths and the women were fitness models in metal bikinis........... man I miss the 80s
