Same...I always do mine as early as possible but I don't think I've gotten a "refund" in 5-6 years. I owed this year too. Luckily it wasn't a breaking amount..but still. |

OMG. Tell me this is a DP hallucination. I feel like all this rampant speculation is why people are disappointed in Star Wars movies. Already I see people getting attached to their "fannon" theories, then will be disappointed when Disney does ANYTHING AT ALL besides that...
Ok, this should make you feel better. I foresee more of the same: stellar cast fed a sub-par script with mediocre direction, many wizz-bang effects that add nothing but look real cool, and another "look who's back" character that will ultimately come out lamer than previous incarnations. This should work out really well for me. If the movie actually is good, then I'll be shocked and thrilled, and be far less disappointed if lives up to my expectations. This is how I survived the colossal let down known as The Last Jedi. Fundamentally, there is nothing wrong with harmless speculation. Having discussions about what people "think" may happen. I think where the problem lies for some fans is they are unable to leave speculation at the door and accept the movie for what it is. The disappointment comes when the movie didn't deliver what they wanted. It is not the job of a director to tell the story you want. He tells his own story and hopefully we, the audience, will like it.
When I feel deflated by an initial viewing I usually have to go back and watch it again. It took me 3 tries to come to grips with the death of Han. But I do like it when my negative speculation is dispelled, as I mentioned after seeing Captain Marvel.
Meanwhile, tax talk: I'm so proud. I already have my returns deposited.  |
