So...there's this awesome movie that you guys may have heard of. It's called "Star Wars". It just had a new trailer drop. What do you think?

I am so, absolutely in love with this. I said it in another thread, but Star Wars is absolutely ripe for some deconstruction and new philosophical territory now, and it looks like Rian Johnson has that for us now.
And oh my god those aesthetics. The wide shots, muted daylight and rich, rich shadows are intoxicating. This already looks like it could be the most gorgeous Star Wars movie yet. And how genius is it to think of using the light reflecting off of rocks as stars?!
More than most everything else we've gotten from the ridiculous amounts of intellectual property Disney owns lately, this looks like a real movie, and I cannot wait for it.

Undeniably YES to all of it. My word that's some good stuff there! Yum! Rian Johnson's directing and cinematography style is really honoring Star Wars in a huge way. December can't get here soon enough. Thank the maker we're heading into the summer movie season soon to tide us over for a time. Til then I just put that poster as my lock screen on my phone.   |
