I've watched a few videos for both staff and single blade which show how to switch from a downward orbit to an upward orbit, but I can't seem to get the hang of it.  I can't seem to get a smooth transition from down to up, and it's even worse going the other way.  Does anyone have any advice for me?

@ 2:45 I show a basic transition drill that will help. I actually find using footwork can make this easier, but this first set was to be from a static position.

There are many other ways to transition, this is just one. Hope it helps! ( others here can help you as well. )

Thanks!  I've kinda got it now, a bit of practice and I think I'll get the hang of it.  Basically it's like doing 1 1/2 or 1 1/4 orbit to the side, instead of just changing direction?

Like I said, I've seen multiple videos, and I don't think they were worse at explaining it, I just think yours was easier for me to understand.
