Ultrasabers Dominix V2 w/mods

Another lightsaber build.
This time, it's simply some basic mods to an Ultrasabers Dominix V2 stunt hilt.

Started by cutting some lengths of 1 1/4" inside diameter PVC pipe to work as shrouds for the grip and emitter areas.
I also cut a gap into the emitter portion to allow for access to the blade retention screws


Widened the gap in the emitter shroud.
Cut a grip section in the larger piece, as well as a hole to accomodate the covertec clip on the back end of the hilt


Primered both pieces in flat black, and then sprayed both with Krylon bright aluminum.
After a coat of sealer on both pieces, I put them into place on the hilt.
As a final touch, I replaced the black covertec wheel the hilt came with using a silver one I had on hand

With the Dominix V2, I thought it could use some individualizing, so I ran with it.

Nice work, your mods really made for a unique looking saber!  I like that the dominix is so thin, it allows you to add shrouds and such without becoming overly bulky.  Nice work

Yeah TJ I've got to reiterate the general consensus here: great job!  Your mods truly add to the saber's beauty but also keeping the artistry of the Dominix while individualizing the hilt (I am reminded of the "darktroopers" of Dark Horse comics canon and imagine that they would wield sabers like the one you made  ).  Again: awesome work!

I do believe it's schedule 40.
And, though it looks white in the pics, it's actually silver in color.
No other mods really planned for this one as it was mostly done just to see how it would turn out

IT was a fun, quick mod to do. Very much unlike the full hilt builds I've done

I really like the shroud at the bottom, that whole "Consular" look with a covering over inner grooves is a personal favorite.
