This is about as far as I'm getting with the saber before the con, so have a quick comparison between the original Black Series hilt and the heavy-duty conversion:

Re-working the audio arrangement under the costume. I'm moving one amp up to my shoulder and sitting the pitch shifter beside it, so hopefully it'll sound more like the voice is coming out of the helmet. Disconnecting the second amp from the voice system and dedicating it to TFA soundtrack and lightsaber effects as it sits on my right hip.

Hoping to make the hood a bit larger and widen the top coat shoulders before the weekend.

Cool looking pommel which really compliments/ties in the red blades.

I missed the red wire. ^^; My initial plan was a piece of red sideglow fiberoptic that lit from the main LED's back-glow. Well first, the cable only came in clear. Fine, as long as it lights up. Nope, back-glow isn't nearly bright enough. Fine, I can at least paint the cable. Nope - unpaintable rubber remains forever tacky.

So for the con, I'm sticking a placeholder wire off one of my spools. I'll source the correct transparent speaker wire after the show.

I thought that this one was a newer cleaned up version lol ... but that red wire makes it so much more interesting and gives it that extra sinister pop.  Also that gold latch thingy.

The gold/brass clip in back is actually a functional replica of the funky belt clip system used on the original prop. I have the matching belt piece - I just need to finish putting the belt together.
