Who watches the watchmen?

WWW

So this is one I was asked for quite some time ago and I had been holding off. I am filming it now as part of a set. This video is the first in a set on color changing options with lightsabers. It deals with the cheapest option out there, which is color discs. I look at what color discs are, what LEE and Apollo filters are, how the two compare, and what you can and cannot do with them.

Thanks for sharing this one.  That's odd as we talk about the theatrical budget conscious filter option all the time. More color ranges that is something US is unable to supply other than for the high end features.  The filters can only help to encourage Adegan Silver LED saber purchases.  This is not to take away from the convenience of the plastic discs and I have used a filter over a disc with minimal decrease in illumination.  Just have to find the right combination.  Smiley

The filter will also work better on a Archon V3.1 were you have to put it under the emitter instead of under the blade. The disk are to thick.

Good video, I enjoyed viewing. I have read elsewhere that we might like to be mindful of the LED heat and the plastic color discs / films melting / warping. It has never happened to be (mainly because I don't use the discs but I do have a set just to experiment and play with).

I've got a tri cree adegan silver. I use a short section of blade tube to act as a spacer between the LED surface and the discs and lee filters. It works great avoid any melting no matter how long I use them. Red, deep blue and violet get dim. The other colors have been great. I'm hoping to be able to obtain an emerald or diamond someday to get the exact violet shade I want.
