Hello,
I`m new in this Forum. And sorry for my bad English, I come from Germany Wink
And next month I want to buy a Consular Lightsaber with Obsidian Soundboard.
But I want a Soundboard with Flicker-Effects, like the Crystal Focus.
So my question is, can I install the Constant current LED driver from TCSS (The Custom Saber Shop) ?
If this is installed, are then Flicker-Effects at lock up, turn on/off ?

Back to English now... welcome!  Not sure about how the flicker effect works on Obsidian, I don't know anyone who has tried the drivers in tandem with that board.  It's something that may happen in the future, as Ultra has implemented it on a custom saber he recently sold, but to my knowledge it's not currently possible with the soundboard.

Yes, you can install the TCSS driver with the Obsidian, it's pretty simple to do.  Then you can have the flicker effect if that is what you want.

and what flicker effects I have then?
flash on clash?
slow light up at power on and off?
and flicker light at the lock up?

That driver has dim on, dim off, blade flicker, and flicker on lockup.

Hi !

I have a Consular since Friday (I will do a review soon) and I think it can be great to have the flicker effects !
I look for this driver and I have a liittle question :
       With the obsidian we don't have access to the sensor so can we just connect the LED+ and LED- of the soundboard to the IN+ and IN- of the driver and after just connect normally the led to the driver ?
We will have all flicker effects ? or must we connect Stat and stat- of the driver to something else ?
I don't know if i am very clear in my question :s

So, theoretically, if I omit the Flash on Clash option, I can buy the TCSS Constant Current Driver and still get:

-Flickering Blade at idle
-Flicker on clash
-Flickering lockup (does this function the same as FoC, i.e. by pressing the power button briefly?)

If this is correct, then that's definitely what I want to do. I'm just not that keen on cutting up a $300 lightsaber. Is there a custom option for a bit of extra wire, in case I trim too much?
