Thanks everybody for the feedback, and good to see you again D7  Haz - I know you like them  Also, the switch was actually that way when I purchased it and it was what prompted the mirror finish. Originally I was going to do a matte finish like in the picture but the switch was too nice to take the finish off. Also I realized that because it's a Grievous saber, it's a trophy and it should be nothing less than the best. He'd take better care of his sabers than his own mechanical body, I think. Those are some good points of inspiration and creativity. This just hit me again that this is a Grievous saber - just awesome. |

And for those always blown away by the finish quality I get, that's the difference between hand sanding/buffing/polishing and doing it with machines. Hand finished is always better and start to finish this saber took me 4 days to do but only doing 2 hours a day after work and then 10 minutes on Saturday to install the electronics. So I would have gained nothing by trying to do it "faster" with power tools.

Human hands can almost always do something better than a machine. Maybe not faster, but better. |

I'm new to the forum, but that is an awesome saber. Brilliant idea how you fit the blade into the coupler; might try that out on my Archon v3.
