I have installed and updated the UltraSaber Launcher app on my mac. My saber is powered on and I connected the USB cable to the computer. The saber program is not recognizing that my saber is connected to it. I have tried powering the saber on and off and re-connecting the USB. Any ideas?

I have tried 3 of my own USB 2.0 cables as well as the USB 2.0 cable I purchased from the UltraSaber website when I ordered the Saber. Still no luck getting the Saber Launcher Program to recognize that my Saber is attached.

Try charging the batteries, if they are getting low it won't connect

I had a similar problem on my PC.  Rebooting my computer helped.

I tried restarting the computer and program. Still no luck. I am beginning to think the Saber board has a problem.

Did you try that, too?

Yes, the first thing I did when I received my saber was make sure the batteries were charged all the way.

Was your saber plugged in when you installed the launcher? I missed that instruction my first time installing and had to uninstall and reinstall with it plugged in everything to get it to work. I also had an issue that the USB cable I had tried to use was not a data cable, charging only, and the launcher won't connect to the saber without a data cable. I didn't even know there were different kinds of USB cable, but if you're using the one you got from US, I would think that would be the right cable.

Ok I finally got it sorted out. I re-downloaded the launcher with the saber connected and on, then i ran the maintenance tool, and then the firmware update immediately after.

On a slightly different topic:

Any ideas on how to "calm" the saber down? It has way too many effects while swinging it around for my taste.

You can change the sensor sensitivity settings in the Launcher. The ones you have to look at are Motion Thresold and Motion Integration Time for swings and Impact Thresold and Impact Debouncing Time for impacts/clashes/hits.
