Hi.  Generally any external custom that does not disturb or change the internal saber electronics and wiring is approved.  Also something that would not significantly modify the structural integrity of the aluminum design.  Such as specifically adding larger window cut outs or heavy shattering.  Suggest that you have a random look at the customizations as there are many great ideas... from simple to more complex.  Many persons start with 0 rings and wraps.   Your Aeon V2 is a nice saber and even better when you make it your own.  Smiley

O-rings can work, but you can also use sports tape or other wraps on the hilt as well

Leather cordage works great for a simple design like the Aeon/Dominix or Sentinel/Dark Sentinel  hilts.  I used this method for my Aeon V4 and also my Manticore.

I inverted some electrical tape (sticky side up) onto the saber hilt to the area I wanted the leather to be.  I then wound the leather around the hilt and the e-tape allowed it to adhere without constantly moving.  I then tied the ends off and the cordage hasn't move in 3 years.  I dueled quite regularly with both of the sabers that I put wrapped.

Welcome to the forums!

The Aeon v2's are VERY good for trimming away the metal for new designs.  Did that very thing with one of my own.

Krayt, great tip, I am going to have to try that.

Mask, nice shattering work there.

Thanks Edon - I never did quite finish this one completely - I now have an Initiate v2 LE stunt in GB as well, and was thinking I would sandblast it as well (something I did with the Aeon pictured above), and then do the same carvings and drillings so that it matches.
