Light Side For The Win!

« on: December 08, 2017, 11:44:18 AM »

I will be ordering a 24" initiate blade soon, and I would like to know the weights of both the mid and heavy grade blades. I know the heavy weighs twice as much as the mid-grade, but how much exactly would a 24" blade weigh?

36" heavy grade is 9.12 oz, if my scale is correct.
Another 36" heavy grade I have is measuring 10.4 oz.
24" heavy grade 4.515 oz.
36" mid grade 5.890 oz.

Extrapolate, if you dare.

The blade may be half the thickness, but the tip and film are similar in mid or heavy grade. So, I would expect the mid grade to be more than half the heavy grade weight. I was surprised the 24" heavy is about half the 36" heavy.

If it helps I got all heavy grade blades for my kids, my 4 year old can wield his initiate without much trouble.

Thanks! That is perfect, because I am 13, so if a 4 year old can use it, I will have no problem.

Basically any midgrade blade would be easily wielded by Jedi (or Sith) of any age.  The thin walled blades are extremely lightweight, which is why I prefer not to go below 36" (or they become too light for my preferences).  They also tend to be brighter and flex more during usage.
