Thank you guys, you're too kind!!
Hey, also, just a side note, i dunno if i've said this already, but it's so awesome to see you guys again
. Been so busy lately i could hardly get online, but i've been missing my forum time like crazy lol, and it's great to see all the familiar faces and be catching up with everyone again! Seeing some new'ish, or new to me, people also- like to take the opportunity to say hi, and welcome to the forum!
I got the bulk of the weathering done this weekend. I hadn't realized it until now, but this is actually my first time trying out real weathering lol. I have chemically treated hilts before to make them look older, but never actually worked the finish by hand for the sake of weathering, never added damage etc. Still have to give it a general-all-around once over just to complete the look/ tie it all together, but here's the damage.
I went heavier than i thought i was gonna- just think it fits this saber, which i picture belonging to a sort of bad ass/ controversial/ enforcer type jedi (i'll explain a little more about the backstory/ etc to this on the next, and final, instalment). This is the saber of a dude who's coming because there's nothing to talk about/ nothing to negotiate, debate, or argue, nothing left to figure- he's coming because the call's already been made. He's coming like a tide, he's sauntering straight in the front door, right in front of your face, and he's finishing it, and you won't stop him. Plus i'm sure seeing D7's Mayhem looking so wicked prob helped also lol.
i used gun blue, aluminum black, and just straight up copper sulphate in water, in the gnarly bits to different effects.

some of this could still use a good sanding
alright- so the next time you see this it'll be the wrap up! Thanks for checking it out, MTFBWY
