Rian Johnson has been tapped to create a whole new "trilogy of movies" according to Disney. Since JJ is supposedly coming back to direct for Episode 9 I can't help but feel that the stable boy is possibly Rian's segway into whatever he's going to cook up in the future. It's really up in the air as to how far Disney will delve into the EU for ideas but I do recall that in the new Thrawn novel they specifically mentioned "threats from outside the known galaxy" which reeks of the Yuuzhan Vong or something similar. I mean logically once the New-new Jedi order under presumably Rey decides to make the order "grey" then brushes with the dark side characters start to lose some of their contrast in my opinion.

If they do intend to something like a Yuuzhan Vong galaxy invasion then we may be in for some battles that will dwarf the Clone Wars conflict... I'm getting off topic so I'll stop there.

Disney will run it into the ground and be left with strictly children's cartoons.

Remember, Disney used to have stuff for adults that became just for kids.
