WHAT is UP saberforum!

Over winter break I acquired a Dark Omen in tri-BR. Soon after I was leaving on a trip, and wanted to install a blade plug for the travel. However, I came to realize while disassembling the hilt that a standard blade plug simply wouldn't work. SO, I made my own! I used a skateboard bearing, an old keyring connector, and a spare piece of polycarb trimmed from the blade of my new project (see my post 'Dominaeon"). Because the bearing would not completely fit, I had to combine the exquisite methods of scraping excess material out of the inside of the tube and brute-forcing it in by smashing it with a hammer. After I was eventually successful, I glued the bearing in and added the keyring along with a small black ring of paint. Originally, it took inspiration from the Graflex's blade plug, with a small cylinder protruding out of the glowing ring.  Not bad for something thrown together in an hour made of spare parts!  Wink

I've dueled a fair amount with it, although I'd have to say it's not without it's problems. The large emitter does present some balancing problems, but that I'm alright with because it's out of control nature fits with the Sith. Another problem I was having although was that, especially in cold weather, the disks on the emitter would pop out and go flying. I'm not sure if this was because they shrank, or if it was just the shock and impact that popped them out, so I'm thinking I'll just buy an MHS emitter for it when dueling.

Thanks guys. Also, that was one of my thoughts that it could be cool to use an MHS emitter from TCSS or something but I'm not sure how I like how the match the body's styling.

Great idea, I love the Omen, you don't see alot of them around here though. THUNDERCATS HOOOO! +1. I think I want one now. Maybe for Spring raffle if they have one (which they no doubt will).

I say go for it! honestly just the idea of the saber is what makes it so cool and so much fun to use.
