Troubleshooting an errant saber

Hey y'all, new saber owner here - I have a dark apprentice v4 with obsidian lite soundboard which I got at a convention back in November. I don't use it much, other than to turn it on and wave it around and enjoy the experience but today when I turned it on, it made a 'clang' noise, and then said in a sexy female voice 'obsidian'... and then it made a high pitched squeak until i could pull the batteries out. Before taking action I thought i'd ask here what you think about this. Bad sound board? Dead batteries?
Thanks in advance.

I'd start with fresh batteries and see what happens.

I have a Dark Initiate that did something similar when the batteries completely died.
Fresh batteries made the problem go away for mine
