Where is the best place to buy leather wrap, and easy on the wallet?

First off actual leather will be more expensive than pleather fabric or even vinyl. If you are dead set on authentic leather then online is a good place to try. Searching for "scrap leather" on a site like Ebay or Etsy especially will bring up some great results. Also cutting up leather products that you can get cheap at a thrift store, for example, can be a great route.  You want to make sure you have enough of a solid piece to wrap the part of the hilt you want. Measure it out with either a measuring tape or you can even test it out by making a long strip of paper taped together and figuring out how much of an overlap you need as well as how long the total length needs to be. I got my piece for $7 at my local Michael's. It was the perfect height to wrap my grip, and I still had some smaller pieces left over. I would recommend real leather or goat leather, as it has a different feel and is easier to stretch (if you haven't already seen the post pinned to the top of the customization board about leather wrap, Bulvoy has some great ideas/tips for wraps).

I get most of my material at Joann Fabrics, or alternately Amazon.  However, this vendor on Ebay has great leather wraps for rather inexpensive prices:

I don't see it being an issue, until such time as Ultrasabers starts stocking leather wraps (or sabers with that feature).

Side note - Ultrasabers, start making hilts with leather wraps!

Hobby Lobby has real leather scraps over with beads and stuff. Or fabric rolls. Someone on the forum had an alligator looking wrap that was exactly like what HobLob had a couple weeks ago.
