That reminds me that I need to work on my soldering as well.  Want to add sound to my Dark Initiate.  Great goals that you have, Goldldr.  Is your Aeon V4 a stunt saber or does it have sound?

Itís a stunt, with lion and resistor setup.  I truly wish it had windows, but I can live.  My major disappointment was the color of the led (fire orange) which I like, but I have already on too many sabers, so I am changing it out.

My other initial annoyance with it was it is an all silver hilt with a black AV switch, which I didnít like.  However, a few cosmetic changes as simple as o-rings, a different pommel, and a emitter shroud have made a large difference.  I am new to mods on sabers, so mine are all very simple to date.  Replacing the LED will be a big step for me, as will painting.

Cool deal. The little things can make a huge impact on how it looks and you're starting off with modding the little things first and then moving up to more complicated mods.

I am, it seemed the right way to start.  I bought a bunch of 26 gauge wire to practice soldering on, and have a hilt I donít care about that I am going to practice some painting on before I go all in on the aeon v4.  I hope it works.  I got a self etching primer, then a bright metallic copper paint, and a semi gloss clear coat.  I havenít done a ton of spray painting, and none on metal so should be interesting.

What grit sandpaper did you use to rough up before priming?

People use 500-ish grit sandpaper, as long as it's fine.  You just need to rough it up a bit

I actually use steel wool to rough the surface before I paint.  You don't want to "rough" it to much unless you're looking for a certain texture.  A very fine grit works very well, like 500 grit silicon carbide.

Thank you very much.  My plan was to painters tape the areas I want to leave alone, and then rough up/paint the saber.  I hadnít thought about steel wool.  I may try that.  I would like it to still be pretty smooth at the end of this, so happy for the advice!!

How does the Electrum Wind handle, Jabari?  It's one of my top sabers to get

It's really heavy, definitely a two-hand saber.  I should add though, the Prophecy is my preferred saber and the largest saber I had previously is the Shock.  The Electrum Wind is smaller than the Bellicose or the Lost Gray, which are both too big for me.

Thank you US!  I meant to post pictures months ago, but better late than never, right?  Honestly I'm not sure how to post pictures on the forum, so we'll see if this works...

I won a dark initiate V3 stunt saber from the raffle, and US accidentally sent me an initiate LE V4 li-ion stunt also.  When I asked them about the extra saber, they said I could keep it!  Thank you so much, US!!!
