Just bought a couple of sabers a few months ago, and I went to test mine today to show a friend and it no longer works properly! When I press the button, the light will flash briefly with a very brief start sound, but then it stops and a weird sound and voice says something like "obsidian". That's all it does. Anyone know what is going on?

Sounds like batteries may be going.
That would be the first thing I'd check with that symptom

The batteries. If AAA just replace them, if rechargeable then recharge them.

You guys are the battery crew to the rescue. You keep saving people with this problem. Such kind Sith you are.

If it has sound(V3,V4,Lite), the battery is engaged in low level while the saber is not in use. I've got some eneloops for my Lite and some extra 3.7volt batteries for my ObsV4. I don't leave the batteries in more than a few hours.

I started working with my Saber today in the launcher ,modifying ONLY the colors in the diamond controller setup menu. After disconnecting from the launcher first then removing the cable, carefully reassembling the pommel, I tried to light up the saber and nothing is happening.

No i didnt touch the controller with my hands. (Im an engineer and know all about ESD)

No i didnt pull out the controller further than i needed to connect the USB connector (this would obviously break a wire).

No i didnt go swimming with my saber.

No i didnt drop it in the toilet.

No i didnt do the tree test.

No i didnt drop it from a highrise building.

No i didnt run over it with a car.

No i didnt give it to a sith lord.

No i didnt use it as a flashlight.

No i didnt take a hammer to it.

Yes i've already emailed info@ultrasabers.com for help and have not heard from them yet but im sure i will at some point.

Sorry about posting the obvious things i didn't do but I wanted to get it outta the way LOL :-) . Im here to find solutions.

if anyone has one, Please feel free to send em my way. i welcome anything constructive. Thank you.

May need to upgrade to the latest version of the launcher or set your diamond controller back to the default factory settings.  I know I had that problem at first.  Also keep in mind there is a pdf manual in the US launcher for the diamond controller that may be able to help.

Also battery drain occurs even when hooked up to the launcher and modifying so recharge your batteries too just to eliminate all the simple solutions first.
