My Saber came with the Xtar 14500 800mAh batteries. Would 18650s be better? Last longer?

Thanks

They're also likely a different amperage, which could cause problems

Whenever dealing with anything electrical, it's best to go with what's recommended.  In this case, the 14500 batteries

It should be possible if you have the right knowledge, but know that making that change to the saber makes it so you can never send it in for repair if you run into problems.

I agree with Chalion, you don’t ever want to void warranty for electronics.  It can get costly
