Not sure what to make of this. I like Zachary Levi and I'm getting shades of Heroes season 1 mixed with BIG. But my faith in DC movies is not high right now. I'm hoping it will be good.

I've always had the impression that "Shazam" is closer to "The Greatest American Hero" than to "Superman".... This trailer didn't change my opinion. That being said, cheesy funny entertaining is a big improvement for DC IMHO...

The costume is a problem for me. From the shoulder foam to the plastic lightning. It was ok as Black Lightning's chest piece, as his armor is synthetic and uses/focuses his lightning power. But Shazam is magic based and has no need for that.
I think everyone is trying to capitalize on the successful irreverence of Deadpool.

Definitely the shoulders bother me. I know Zachary Levi has been hitting the gym, but it's so obvious that the shoulders in the costume are fake; they look unnatural and are kind of distracting. And I agree with the chest piece. it should just be an insignia on the costume. i do think Mark Strong will kill it as Dr Sivana though. |

Yeah, ever since I have been seeing stuff about this movie, I haven't liked the costume. The saddest thing about it too, because DC's costumes to date have been incredible. I would love for the lightning bolt to glow, but again, it looks fake. Other than the costume, this movie looks okay. I'll definitely give it a watch.

Maybe this is DC’s reinvented re-entry back to making good and fun films with WW as the starting point. Black Mantra looks good and Black Adam is supposed to be an anti-hero in this film as well. I’m glad that DC strayed away from the dark time settings that they appear to love in the past severa films. With that said, I have a positive feeling for DC. Hope they do Shazam justice

I think they've already confirmed that Black Adam will not be in this movie. Apparently he may appear in Suicide Squad 2. The villain in this movie is Dr Sivana, played by Mark Strong. As for Black Mantra, did you mean Black Manta, the bad guy appearing in Aquaman? |
