Great review and nice mystery box pull, SD.  The Liberator is a really well designed and elegant saner like the Standard issue saber.  The designs pave way to many modification possibilities.  I see quite a bit of leather in your video so I’m assuming you’ll wrap it and you can always add sound to it later on if you want. The Obsidian V3 are $125.00 or you can get the V4 soundcard for $10.00 more.   Have a point

I’ve had so many ideas I would like to try with this model. Some involve painting it. But since it’s my first saber, I also have a strong desire to keep it in its original condition. So my next logical step is a wrap with the leather shown (actually faux leather). Something I can punch some holes in and make a cross-cross pattern with black chord to lace it on the saber. You can create a non-skid grip on the back of the leather by dabbing a little hot glue here and there and letting it dry. Then it won’t move around on you and it’s something I can take off and still have my original saber if i want to

Thank you, sir...I have been enjoying it very much. Ultrasabers is doing a great job in making my choices harder though. I really want to start with some of the movie classics: Electrum Wind, classic graflex, and the Archon...but the Spectre release is like, OMG!

I’ll definitely continue getting more Mystery boxes between putting some cash away for the larger purchases though.  Because I’m going to need a lightsaber fix more than once every few months

I received a Liberator as a Grab Bag saber (Silver hilt, Blazing Red blade). It was one I had been thinking about maybe possible eventually getting someday, so getting it as a grab bag was a great way to try it out.

And I liked it enough to immediately order a Dark Liberator, with Obsidian v4 Sound and a Hot Pink blade. Yeah, it’s pretty much my second favorite hilt (and partially where my title comes from). Also the way the hilt is shaped, the two of them together make a very nice double bladed saber.

Great to see it in a mystery box, hopefully you’ll have just as good luck with future mystery boxes.

Thanks, DSB. I don’t believe in all all the mystery box reviews I watched before purchasing that I saw a liberator. I saw a couple of videos since then, but certainly not one of the more common MB offerings. I was very pleased and surprised when I opened it because it was really an unexpected hilt—which made it even better.

i have to admit that i had over looked this saber. but, after your video, i'm considering this one. thanks for a cool review. i like the slight modifications. those black o rings really set it off nicely.

Thanks, Malik. The black rings make it look more like the exact opposite of the dark liberator—which is also nice.  I’ve been thinking about various ways to modify it further, but I struggle with the idea of doing something that changes up the saber too much.  Maybe after I’ve lived with it a little while and have built up my collection a bit more it won’t seem as important.  Because I have some ideas I think would look pretty cool at some point.
