When it comes to wood, I always vote for stain and varnish over paint.

You are far from alone, and trust me when I say that I am too, for the most part.  This is just treated pine though, so I didn't really consider it "a pretty" grain.  If it were cedar, or mahogany, or something...

Any thoughts or input on clear or tinted?  I could do a "redwood" tint on it.  Or just mineral oil and a rub on poly...lol

A redwood finish would look awesome. A clear coat would look like raw wood but be protected, which is great, too. But if it's new treated wood, you should let it dry out before applying any kind of finish to it. About 3 months should do the trick. Otherwise the stain won't take uniformly or the paint will bubble.

Se, that's what I suspected.  Thank you for verifying that Ultra. Smiley

I might just go with a redwood stain then. Wink

Ladies & gentlemen, it's trike box 2.0.

I wasn't very happy with the way I had McGyver'd the taillight, so added a bar instead.

I added two actually:

Having the lock not inside was too good not to.

It has a clip of sorts, that will attach it to something:

And the lock, of course, has a thing:

So there:

I'm not too impressed by the hooks on the cargo net.  Carabiners would be better:

That's that though...

Looking good there, Rapine. I like that knurled bar you added, more function and looks really good. I wonder how it'll look in black.

HA!  Me too...

The chrome ones were very inexpensive.  The black ones were not. Wink

Knurling for the win!

Nice work. You should be able to fit a sub and amp in there now!

You're chillin' at the house. You hear the unmistakable sound of heavy bass, accompanied by the house vibrating. You look out the window, and there's Rapine cruising by on his trike.  Wink
