Wiring question

Here's the deal:

I preordered a Butcher with the Emerald driver with plans to possibly upgrade it to sound a bit later. Now, I do have a MB saber I ordered some time ago w/ basic sound (Sentinel in BR w/ AS FoC). If I were to attempt to upgrade the Butcher, I'd likely gut the MB saber for the sound card and install it into the Butcher (I have no need of more than basic sound at this time).

I've been looking for a wiring diagram on how to splice it all together, just for curiosity's sake, but I've come up empty. Does anyone have a diagram or photo of the guts of their emerald + sound saber they could post?

Not sure how accurate those may be for the Obs Lite board, though.
He's talking basic sound in that MB saber. Not sure if the Obs Lite and the Emerald can work together

Emerald uses a 2x 14500 Li-Ion power source at 7.4 volts. Obsidian Lite uses a 4x AAA alkaline power source at 6 volts. It's highly unlikely that 6v will power the Emerald board, that's why it can only be ordered with Li-Ion batteries. 7.4v will fry the Obsidian Lite board. So, I think it's safe to say they're incompatible.

I completely forgot about the voltage between the Obsidian Lite versus the Premium, SFD.  You're right, it won't work with the Emerald driver and above.  Point.

Marlena sent me a data sheet on the Obsidian Lite once because I e-mailed with a question about power sources. If I remember correctly, 6v is right at the max or even slightly above the rating for the board, but likely within tolerances.

I also forgot about the voltage differences. well, it was a fun idea while it lasted (even though there is a workaround). I'm not an electrical engineer and won't risk harming my emerald board. This was just a thought experiment, and I appreciate you all answering my questions

does anyone have a wiring diagram for the Obsidian Lite? I only found one thread with the link, but it's locked for me, making it a bit difficult to do anything with Ultrasaber's product.

It's the ever helpful Marlena who is responsible for me even having that. I e-mailed with some technical questions about the Lite board once, and she sent me that. I just uploaded it to my Dropbox and share it when people ask technical questions about the board.

Extremely helpful man - thanks again! Honestly I don't really understand why Ultrasabers doesn't sell their controllers (besides Obsidian) independently and make the tech info readily available. I'm sure there's a reason that I don't understand, but I feel like they'd get a lot more sales from people wanting to play around with their sabers since they sell the empty hilts too.
