I recently tried to connect my Fulcrum to the obsidian launcher to change blade colors. started the program and as soon as i plugged in the mini usb, I lost all light to the blade and then an  error page showed saying " Failed to create open GL context format?... Please help!!!

Yikes never heard that one. Have you tried contacting UltraSabers? Would email them. They can get you up and running and are fast at responding. info@ultrasabers.com.

First hot tip is to always have fully charged batteries in your saber before hooking up to the Launcher program.

What you can try is simply remove one battery and then re-install it. If you hear the typical bout sound then all is well with the soundboard. You could try re-connecting to the program to make changes as you had first intended. Saber on first, then launch program.

If you don't hear the boot sound then there may be a corruption in the board. A possible way to deal with this is that the board will need to be formatted(reset). With fresh batteries installed, you'd need to connect to the launcher program and select the format function which will reset it and clear all fonts, in which case you'd need to reload fonts back on.

Hopefully it's a lot simpler than the second suggestion lol. As was mentioned you could always fire US an email if you'd like extra clarifications for any questions.

Good explanation haz.  I recall that it possibly can be a mini usb problem as well that can be fixed by using a different connector.

Thx and good point, D7... a cheap USB cable can certainly prevent a proper connection.

What operating system are you running? If Haz's suggestion doesn't work, it may be an OpenGL or driver error.

Also, and it just occurred to me, update your video drivers.
That error's likely NOT coming from the saber
I ran into this after a Windows update once, and updating/reinstalling the video drivers helped clear the error

Also check the USB port, use a different one to test

Basically Ironwalker, and as you can kind of see, there are a few factors to play around with. 

I will add that, sometimes the launcher is just ignorant and argumentative.  Like: Not work, not work, not work, work!  No changes!  Vary your cycle (power the saber on first, last, try it all).

I have heard of WIN10 being a total PITA though too.
