I will have to go back to my DVD (its packed up) but I'm almost certain that is just the reused voice from the original film.

You could be right. But even if it is I think it works better in animation than in live action IMO.

As far as favorite Old Skool (Pre-Mermaid)...its a tie between The Sword in the Stone and Alice in Wonderland.    Post Mermaid...  It's a lot closer.  Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast are up there.  Of course I also loved Frozen... and no it wasn't JUST because of Elsa.  85% to 90% Elsa at most

I loved that one too... I assume you haven't seen Moana yet.  I highly recommend it.

I just took another viewing. Although I'm underwhelmed by the visual of the cave, the voice sounds like an HD enhanced version of the original.

Hopefully it's unfinished VFX. Happens a lot with trailers; they tend to be working on the VFX right until the movie released.

They looked pretty finished to me. However, I will cop that the cave being in a rock face is a little more believable, and can still utilize the scarab to find it, but I remember the first time I saw the Cave on the big screen......and nearly soiled myself. It was one the absolute coolest things I had (and still have) ever seen in a movie, especially an animated movie.

Maybe. Although I read that Age of Ultron, The Last Jedi and Ironman 3 finished the VFX the day before the movie was released. The day before. Which shouldn't be surprising as movies like those have a number of VFX shots and employ a number of VFX houses worldwide to help them meet the release date.

That's not surprising to me.  VFX is pretty brutal, back in the day, they have to add all the details frame by frame but with modern day tech, the computer does most of the work nowadays.  I'm not sure how Marvel does things but according to the actors, they keep things under wraps for quite some time and I'm pretty sure that they do things like that so it wouldn't be leaked out to the general pop pre-released.

I didn't think about that. That scene might even be a red herring, and not even in the movie.

It's a fundamental part of the Aladdin tale. I remember imagining what the cave looked like when the story was read to me at school as a wee little kid. I doubt even Disney would leave it out.

Marvel/Kevin Feige are very good at only releasing footage they want to get out. As for VFX rendering, as long as they are given enough time and enough money it will look great. I love watching behind-the-scenes extra features on movies, seeing all the hard work that goes into creating VFX. They truly are artists, in the same way traditional Disney animators were back in the day, doing each frame by hand. (I remember reading somewhere that Kong in the recent movie had something like 1 million individual hairs that had to be created/animated. Crazy!)

Not leave out the Cave entirely, just the one in the rock. And the one we actually get will be the epic badass tiger head in the sand.

Ah. I getcha. My bad. I think my issue with that scene (and granted it's only seen for a few frames in the trailer) is that the tiger head on the mountain just looks fake. I'm not expecting Lord of the Rings style epicness, just something that looks ancient and actually carved in rock. But like I said, maybe it's unfinished VFX. Final look in the film will be amazing I'm sure.

But does a magical cave opening erode and deteriorate with the passage of time? If it were open and exposed all the time everyone would know how to find it. Plus, considering how closely the live-action B&tB followed the original animated version, I'm pretty confident Aladdin will do the same; which means using the scarab to find and unlock the cave.
