 Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Wanted to share this with the forum.

Moonfire99 ( Khaos of Relic Wars ) Just finished a grueling, brutal 9 hour test to earn her Black Belt at The Academy. To even be eligible for this test, she had to pass a 4 hour test...... I cannot share whats on this test, as it is closed doors, buuuut....lets just say she left Sweat and Blood on the training floor when it is was all said and done. We are built on practical street self defense....so she probably felt like she was in a Mortal Kombat tournament...I know I did years back when I went through it.

It was long, tough road Khaos. Your willpower and perseverance is amazing and you are now and forever a part of the Jun Fan Lee/Inosanto/Gili Lineage. So proud of you!

And welcome to the family! ( officially..you know you were already part of my immediate family Smiley Tongue )

Hi and congratulations Moonfire99.  I had to endure something similar many years ago but it seems to me that your trials were even more extensive.  Mortal Combat is a favorite film of mine... so I both bow and lower my katana to honor this auspicious achievement.  Smiley

It’s been many years, but I recall leaving some blood, sweat, and some tears!! Welcome to the club, and May your training serve you well.

Yes indeed, lots of sweat there. I remember having to perform kata after kata to go from one belt to the next.  Good times

Oh yeah.  Next level for me includes 10 rounds of 2v1 sparring.    I'm actually looking forward to it....    But I have some time to get ready, I have a minimum of 20 months before I am eligible.

LOL   I have a swollen ciatic nerve that isn't healing.  Impact injury.  So for me right now, EVERYTHING is a pain.  Including sitting still doing nothing.

But 2v1 is crazy.  Its a lot of fun, but its also very frustrating.  Especially when you're already exhausted.

I'm also doing an "opposed" Kata, the name of the technique escapes me, but its basically a Kata (To San for me) that has an opponent.  So instead of just doing the techniques, its an actual choreographed fight complete with strikes, blocks, and throws.  My daughter will be testing in February, we're learning it for her, then we'll do it again when its my turn.  :-)

So far I haven't had any luck getting them to let me learn saber forms from Terra Prime for official weapons demos yet though...   :-/

what you do is learn their sword forms (if your school has them) and send them a video of you doing it with a saber (maybe with a few extra things) and they will usually let the sabers pass. The last two graduation ceremonies at my school had a Star Wars section with Ultrasabers (obviously, what other companies sell them?)

sorry about your nerve thing too.
