This reminds me a bit of the "sabers" that appeared in "Tron: Legacy" a few years ago. A "light edge" blade would be something to see, though. I love the traditional saber tube, but having a dark blade with a lit edge... Sooooo many SciFi possibilities! :-)

Thanks Karmack, The Darksaber blade at the moment I think will always be a display piece due to real life limitations (transparency vs blade strength and lighting the edges) I have an idea how to make an improved display one but I don't think the components I'd need are good enough just at the moment. Me, too. I was stoked to finally see Tron come out of the computer in the next installment, or at least finally see Tron and Alan finally meet in the computer. :-) Alas, it wasn't to be apparently... |

Still haven't watched Tron, I have it on my list and am planning to sometime. Its worth seeing for the updated light cycles alone. :-) Amazing what they can do with LEDs...
